What were those amazing days !! That’s the only thought that comes to my mind and I think in everyone else mind whenever you think about childhood. We miss family and friends but when we deep dive in past the most nostalgic feelings are associated with wonderful “childhood”!!The best part was full freedom without responsibility (Don’t forget because parents were there always ).
Whenever I have a chance to discuss with people about good memories there are many but the best ones from the good old days when we were little ones. Everyone enjoyed waking up early (of course not all day), going to school, prayer meets, classes, chitchat, punishments, lunch break, games, cultural festivals, playgrounds, gardens, swings, birthday parties, fights, and then there are many more. I know no one likes punishment or standing outside class or scolding from parents but now when you remember those moments there will be a sweet smile on your face and that’s the beauty of those golden days. We were so connected to friends, family, and neighborhood.
Sometimes India amazed me with its social and brotherhood culture though there are some differences in opinions. Those were the days (at least in 80’s and 90’s) when we used to go anytime to friends, neighbors, and relatives without being formal. We played for hours in the garden, playgrounds, sand, and on the roads (many traditional games which are almost lost now). Houses were full of members. We had the auspicious presence of grandparents and great-grandparents in many homes. Many kids have seen scarcity but still satisfaction and happiness were easy to see on faces because as kids there is no expectation, no competition, no jealousy there was only love and kindness.
The beauty of being a kid is “Purity of Heart”. There is no place for social and economic difference as a kid doesn’t know any racism …there is no difference of color, religion, money…they only know love, affection, and care. Believe me its the same everywhere in the world.
The innocence of the child is a treasure to hold. I hope this write-up takes you to your memory lane of childhood and gives you sweet nostalgia. This is life.
